In the company of Mozart, Beethoven and Bach

With Western classical music (instrumentals), I didn't know where to begin. When in doubt, choose Mozart. So I did, with a sprinkling of Beethoven, Bach and Chopin in between.
After listening to a few pieces, surprisingly there was a feeling of déjà vu… I had heard this before!

Realization dawned later, while watching cartoons with little Aditi… The background score for many Tom & Jerry episodes is Western Classical music! No wonder it sounds familiar.
And, the splendid signature tune of Titan Watches is Mozart's  Symphony No. 25 in G minor.

I haven't yet delved deep into Western classical (instrumental) music, but there are some clear trends.

For peppy, upbeat music, Vivaldi and most of Mozart do the trick.

For calmness and tranquillity, choose Schubert.

If you are crazy for mathematical rigidity and structure, Bach is for you.

For a stormy, angry mood, Beethoven is good.

But when you want something fiery & explosive, something that will send an adrenaline surge through your body… Ride of Valkyries by Wagner takes the honours.
